Jodie Joyce

Principal / Classical

Jodie has been dancing for over 27 years and teaching for 22 years. She was a student of the highly regarded Carole Oliver School of Ballet and through her time with the Australian Ballet School has been taught by some of Australia's best ballet teachers. Jodie has been trained in both Cecchetti and RAD classical ballet and in contemporary, jazz and tap.

 

She has competed in many eisteddfods, both solos and troupes, including Royal South Street, Commonwealth, Sydney Eisteddfod, Bundoora and has won a number of awards including the Victorian Teachers Workshop and Victorian Cecchetti Grade Scholarship.

 

Outside of dance Jodie is a qualified Clinical Pilates Instructor at Echuca Moama Physiotherapy so has a great understanding of and is passionate about safe dance practices and injury prevention.

Emily Purton

Director / Administration

 

Level 2 First Aid

 

Emily has 18 years administration experience combined with 13 years of bookkeeping experience. Emily has studied business management at university and previously been a part-owner in the family business. Emily plays a big part behind the scenes at the ballet school, managing administration/accounts, the huge task of ensuring every student in the school has a costume to wear come concert time and many other various tasks that go unnoticed that make the ballet school a safe and great place to study dance. Emily has a passion for sewing/dressmaking.

Brianna Kiely

Classical / Contemporary

2021 will be Brianna's 30th year with Suzanne's School of Ballet, first as a student and student teacher for many years and now as a member of our teaching staff having taught at the school for the past 12 years. She has trained in ballet, jazz and contemporary, completed Cecchetti Classical Ballet exams and has participated in several Rock Eisteddfods. In 2011 Brianna obtained her Associate status in teaching Cecchetti Classical Ballet and is currently a registered membered of Cecchetti Ballet Australia. Her creativity and passion comes from a love of the arts, in both dance and design, having many years of experience also as a qualified Graphic Designer and now currently running her own design business alongside her passion for teaching dance.

Lisa Styles

Jazz / Tap / Contemporary / Acro

Lisa has danced with Suzanne's School of Ballet for the past 20 years starting ballet at an early age, followed by tap, jazz and contemporary and has been teaching for the past 8 years. Throughout her time as a student Lisa has completed Cecchetti Classical Ballet exams, Certificate II in Dance (Jazz & Contemporary) and has participated in Rock Eisteddfods, dance workshops and industry days at contemporary dance companies and is currently a Barre Attack accredited instructor. Lisa is a passionate and dedicated dance teacher and loves the quote "every time you dance you turn into a better version of yourself".

 

Claudia Rosenow

Jazz / Hip Hop

 

Trained in Cecchetti Classical, Jazz & Contemporary

Level 2 First Aid

 

Claudia has danced with Suzanne's School of Ballet for 16 years, as a student, primary jazz student teacher and now as a much loved and admired jazz and contemporary teacher. She has trained in ballet, jazz and contemporary and when it comes to dance her favourite quote is "do it with passion or not at all". Outside of dancing and teaching Claudia works as a an Accountant.
