Suzanne's School of Ballet is Echuca Moama's longest established dance school. Established 38 years ago by Susan Eacott, the school was created into a loving and nurturing dance school with a high standard of creativity and achievement. As we dance into the future, owners Jodie Joyce and Emily Purton are continuing the high standard that was set for the school all those years ago.
The school offers an array of quality dance instruction for both children and adults. The highly qualified, diverse and young team of teaching staff are all skilled dancers, having a combined 113 years of dance experience, 84 combined years of teaching experience and are registered members of Cecchetti Ballet Australia. Each teacher comes with their own strengths and creative approaches to teaching in order to continually challenge and excite students, and are all committed to helping each student develop and achieve their goals. Whether a student is there purely for the enjoyment of dance or are working toward a professional dance career, Suzanne's School of Ballet offers every student the opportunity to receive individual instruction and a solid level of dance training.
Principal Jodie Joyce has extensive years of dance training and experience to lead Suzanne's School of Ballet well into the future and continue a high standard and sound level of dance training within the school. Through her time with the Australian Ballet School Jodie has been taught by some of Australia's best ballet teachers, including Marilyn Rowe, Gailene Stock, Leigh Rowles, Colin Peasley, Lisa Pavane and more. Outside of dance Jodie has also gained performance experience in modelling and choreographing fashion parades, TV commercials and stage musicals. She is also a qualified Clinical Pilates Instructor giving her a great understanding of and passion about safe dance practices and injury prevention.
The school offers classes in classical ballet, contemporary, jazz, hip hop, tap, acro and barre attack.
The studio, located in Echuca, is equipped with 2 fully air conditioned dance studios complete with full length mirrors and built in barres, plus a comfortable foyer/waiting room, change rooms and amenities.
Dance has the ability to offer a child the joy of movement, a sense of rhythm, improved coordination and poise, mental and physical discipline and the appreciation of music. Not every child is going to be a dancer, but every child has the opportunity to enter the world of dance at Suzanne's School of Ballet and enjoy the beauty, enjoyment and friendship that it has to offer.
